Wednesday, February 11th – State of Michigan Count Day! What’s The Big Deal?

In the state of Michigan, each public school student must be “counted” in both October and February. On the two required days , it is VITAL that every single student enrolled at iCademy is “present” for the entire day; simply logging into EACH class for which they are registered for THREE minutes. We then submit that information to the State of Michigan to verify that, indeed, each and every student that we have declared to be enrolled with us is actually enrolled and PRESENT with us every day.

Why is it VITAL? Glad you asked! =) The State of Michigan provides what they call “per pupil funding” of approximately $7,000 for each student enrolled with us – all based on the two COUNT DAYS in October and February. The money iCademy receives is used to provide your student(s) with quality educational experiences, curriculum and technology each year. If students do not “attend” iCademy by logging into each class for THREE minutes on count days it becomes extremely difficult, time consuming and cumbersome to provide proof to the State of Michigan that they, indeed, are enrolled with us and attend regularly. Thank you for your help!
