Natalee has attended iCademy since her junior year of high school. Inspired by her certified nursing assistant (CNA) course at the careerline tech center, Natalee plans to pursue a degree in nursing or as a paramedic after graduation. Natalee has been interested in the medical field ever since she was in grade school.
Natalee and her family chose iCademy because of the freedom to design an education that fit her needs. She enjoys being able to take courses at the careerline tech center and participate in competitive cheerleading with a local club while attending school.
When asked to give advice to incoming freshmen, Natalee recommends taking advantage of the flexibility by choosing electives that interest you. She did this with an anatomy & physiology course and found it was helpful in solidifying her goals.
Other than flexibility, it is the kindness of her teachers that Natalee loves the most about iCademy. “The teachers and staff are so understanding and helpful,” Natalee says, “I chose virtual school for my mental health and it has really helped.” She recommends always reaching out when feeling confused, because someone is always there to help.
Natalee is proud to have rekindled her social life at iCademy. She is more comfortable in group settings now than she was during her years at traditional public school. iCademy gave her the space to focus on herself and now Natalee feels more social than ever before.
