NEW INFORMATION

STATE AND NATIONAL SPRING TESTING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

We are nearing our Spring In-Person State Testing season and we wanted to pass on important information regarding dates and locations.  The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress, or M-STEP, is a 21st Century computer-based assessment designed to gauge how well students are mastering state standards.  It is given to grades 3 – 8, & 11 during the month of April.  The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) uses the SAT with Essay as one part of the Michigan Merit Examination which is given to 11th graders.  The PSAT 8/9/10 are a Preliminary SAT and are a practice version of the SAT.

We are asking each family to complete this survey for each student they have attending iCademy. It gives us needed confirmation regarding your plans for when and where your student(s) will attend.

TECHNOLOGY NOTE FROM MS. ROBYN

Hello iCademy friends and families.

Now that we are into the start of the 2022-23 second semester we need to start looking toward the 2023-24 school year and what new fun and exciting things that brings to us as learners. For the 2023-24 school year, we will be migrating away from a Microsoft environment and into a Google environment.

What does that mean for students for the 2022-23 school year?
That means if there is anything in students’ Microsoft accounts such as projects, homework, or papers that students would like to save then a copy of the document needs to be saved to a personal account prior to the last day of school June 21st. We are excited for this transition and all of the possibilities it will bring to our students/families and look forward to walking side by side as learners and educators.

Warm Regards,
Robyn Parks Technology Coordinator
