Nancy is finishing her high school career iCademy and has been greatly enjoying the shift to virtual learning. After graduation, she is planning to pursue an associate’s degree in baking and pastry from Baker college. When asked why she chose this career, Nancy said, “I have always loved baking. I love how it makes people smile.”
Confidence to Pursue Your Dreams
Nancy has enjoyed taking advantage of the diverse opportunities iCademy offers their students, such as a course in entrepreneurship and participation in the community passport program. Because of these opportunities, Nancy feels more prepared to pursue her dream of opening her own business.
Forming Meaningful Relationships
Attending virtual school has helped Nancy form meaningful relationships with teachers and peers and has improved her confidence. She has formed deeper friendships with students through participation in the community passport program and time spent at RE:FUEL. Additionally, she has more trusting and compassionate relationships with teachers at iCademy than she did at brick-and-mortar school. “The teachers are kind, caring and really want their students to succeed,” Nancy said.
We can’t wait to see your baking career bloom, Nancy! Congratulations on graduating!
