NEW INFORMATION

Count Day – Happening on Wednesday, Feb 14th

Wednesday, February 14th is our last State of Michigan Student Count Day for the year. As you do each day, please make certain your children log into every class that appears on their dashboard. On Feb 14th, they will be asked to engage in the “Count Day Activity” or lesson. Students MUST BE IN THE LESSON FOR EACH CLASS FOR AT LEAST THREE MINUTES for us to be able to “count” them as present for the day.

As a special incentive, we will be offering prize drawings throughout the day! Teachers, mentors, and iCademy staff will be looking for your students to complete logins, promptly. Finishing this requirement enters them into the drawings AND keeps us from reaching out to you throughout the day to enlist your help in getting it finished. =).

IMPORTANT: Equitable Funding for Every Child Without Discrimination

Michigan’s legislature just introduced the 2024-25 school aid budget and charter public schools like iCademy Global are receiving less funding than traditional public schools. We believe every child in Michigan should be valued the same, no matter what zip code they live in. We also believe that additional funding should be given to students who need it most – special education students, economically disadvantaged students, and those who need additional supports. Funding should not be differentiated based on what type of public school a child attends.

Clicking on THIS LINK allows you to send a pre-written message to our lawmakers, reminding them the importance of continuing to fun iCademy Global just as they do our neighboring schools. Thank you, in advance, for your help in securing adequate funding for your children.

REMINDER – HOMESTEAD CAMPUS IS A NUT-FREE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Because we have students and staff with life-threatening allergies to peanuts and tree nuts it’s incredibly important that we are vigilant about remaining a completely nut-free campus.

If your child visits Re:FUEL please make sure anything they bring for a snack or lunch does not contain peanuts or tree nuts. For some of our students and staff, unknowingly touching an area besmudged with nut residue or nut butter of any sort and then touching their mouth, eyes or nose is enough to send them into anaphylactic shock, closing their airway and necessitating immediate life-saving medical attention. Thank you for your help in keeping all of our students and staff safe.

Let’s Highlight Your AMAZING Kiddos!

We want to showcase the awesome things our school community is doing across our social media pages! Did one of your children accomplish something awesome outside of school? Do you have pictures from a Field Trip / Special Event that should be highlighted? Did a student submit an assignment that impressed you? Please use THIS FORM to simplify the process! *please note, there is a 5 image MAX, choose wisely.* -Social Media Team
