COUNT DAY! REMINDER for WEDNESDAY 10/4:

Wednesday, October 4th is our first State of Michigan Student Count Day for the year. As you do each day, please make certain your children log into every class that appears on their dashboard. On Oct 4th, they will be asked to engage in the “Count Day Activity” or lesson. Students MUST BE IN THE LESSON FOR EACH CLASS FOR AT LEAST THREE MINUTES for us to be able to “count” them as present for the day.

As a special incentive, we will be offering prize drawings throughout the day! Teachers, mentors, and iCademy staff will be looking for your students to complete logins, promptly. Finishing this requirement enters them into the drawings AND keeps us from reaching out to you throughout the day to enlist your help in getting it finished. =).

Volunteers Still Needed for Book Fair Next Week!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will take place from Wednesday, October 4th through Friday, October 6th. Students will have the opportunity to shop the fair with their class and we will have the fair open prior to school at 8:20am each morning and after school 3:30-4:00pm for family shopping. We will be open during afternoon and evening conference times on Thursday & Friday as well.

We would love parent/guardian or grandparent volunteers! Please see the signup link HERE to volunteer.

Exploring Engineering and Stem (8-12yr olds) Workshops

The program is called Exploring Engineering and STEM and is for tweens. Each month we focus on a different career area of STEM. One or more professionals will share what they do for a career with the kids and how they got into it, plus answer questions. Then kids do a hands-on activity related to the career area. The program meets once a month on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 PM, usually at the North Branch Library located at 155 Riley Street in Holland.

Let’s Highlight Your AMAZING Kiddos!

We want to showcase the awesome things our school community is doing across our social media pages! Did one of your children accomplish something awesome outside of school? Do you have pictures from a Field Trip / Special Event that should be highlighted? Did a student submit an assignment that impressed you? Please use this form to simplify the process! https://forms.gle/mw9wGbRs4Y68579q8 *please note, there is a 5 image MAX, choose wisely.* -Social Media Team

NEW! Go Guardian Software

In order to increase students online safety, engagement, and accountability we are now using GoGuardian. What is GoGuardian software you may ask? It is designed to help us easily manage student devices, better understand our kiddos, and keep them safer online. Staff are able to see, in real-time, students following along with lessons (or not) in class and help re-direct those needing assistance. As always, please reach out with any questions you may have.
